Hi Barry! With all of the laser inlay kits you need to assemble the kit first. Then turn and finish the blank and mount on a pen kit of your choice. The inlay kit itself consists of a series of separately laser-cut-out wood pieces....Think of it as a wood puzzle. You need to put together that puzzle to form a pen blank. Then turn the blank and make the pen. For the Trombone kit there are 12 separate wood pieces that need to be put together.
