The Derek Pen Kit was designed with the discriminating pen collector in mind. The highest quality components are used, coupled with durable, yet beautiful plating. All combine to give the Derek classic styling. The Derek fountain pen kt can accommodate either a #5 or #6 fountain pen nib, or optionally, convert to a rollerball.

In the custom of the finest pens, the Derek was designed with light weight in mind, for an effortless writing experience. The pen sports an etched laurel wreath design on the metal cap and a squared body finial. The Derek is easy to make single tube pen kit, and uses the same tubes, drill bit and bushings as the Jr George and Jr Aaron.

The Derek pen kit comes with a high-quality Jowo medium point #6 nib as standard. This version is presented in a Gun Metal finish, which gives it a truly classic look.

The finished size is: 9/16" x 5-1/8"

This pen is really pretty and feels super premium. The only glaring downside to this pen is that the cap doesn’t screw on or press on to the back! In short, if you use this pen, you won’t have a place to secure or keep the cap. It’ll just be loose or rolling around on your writing surface.

Both the Derek and Dennis are what are called "non postable" or "desk pen" kits. (Generally capped pen Kits come as postable or non postable) This is a choice in style. Postable you can put the cap on the back end. Their balance is different and they are often heavier to write with. Non-postable kits are specifically made to be lighter weight to write with. ( Considered a desirable thing) The cap is usually put off to the side when using non postable pen, and then capped again when not in use. (If not magnetic, its easy to tell postable kits, as they generally have threads on the body finial for the cap to screw on to)
