    Is this kit supposed to come with a tube, or a threaded insert? I only received the opener piece.

    Hi Brian,
    No there is no tube, only the open piece. The tang (shank) of the opener gets glued directly into the handle that you turn. There are instructions on the page, but I have also attached a link. https://www.pennstateind.com/library/PKBPN2XX_INS.pdf
