Sanding Jig--offset
Square the ends of any pen blank easily and safely! No more pen mill chip-outs! Choose the correct size transfer punch that will fit your blank (Punch set can be found here ) and mount it in one of the "through holes". You are then ready to perfectly trim your blank's ends on your lathe, with the additional equipment shown in one picture (Sanding disc, punch set and Jacob's chuck (drill bit holder))
Ed shows how to use the sanding jig to "face" your pen blank.

There is a lot of material to take off and you can't judge where the brass tube ends, as easily. This is why I turn the pen down to near final size before facing. YES, you CAN sand it before turning, if you prefer--no real rules in this game. Ed
