This blank one in a series of new pen blanks dedicated to those faithful companions that fill our lives with warmth and joy. The Dachshund (Doxie, Doxen or Wiener Dog as it is often called)  is thought to be a creation of German breeders, although some scholars believe that the breed can trace its origins all the way back to Ancient Egypt. More recently, Dachshunds were kept by royal courts all over Europe, including that of Queen Victoria, who was particularly enamored with the breed. The dogs were originally bred for hunting badgers and other small burrowing animals, but today the Dachshund's main role is that of the family pet. And it is one of the top 10 dog breeds in the US.

This blank will fit any mid-size pen kit.

This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was recast. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.

The pen blank will fit a mid-size pen kit (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc).  Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the sanding dust and CA or colored epoxy. White painted tubes are recommended.
