Mexican Green Abalone – This blank is made with beautiful natural Paua Abalone called Mexican Green. It comes from a species native to California and Mexico. Black accents along with flashes of pinks blues and purples create a dramatic effect in this ivory-colored Abalone.

This pen blank is made with a beautiful Paua Abalone shell. Paua Abalone shell is harvested and cleaned and the most beautiful part of the shell is used in jewelry and other applications that call for a stunning iridescent material. The Paua is cut into thin strips, then ever so delicately each strip is meticulously hand-applied onto the pen tube. It is then cast in clear polyester resin to enhance and protect its' beauty.

This pen blank comes tubed to fit the Sierra twist, Virage Twist, Thank you, Diamond Knurl, Ellipse, Awareness, Gatsby Twist etc. group of pen kits. As with all polyester resins, sharp tools are a must. Using a pen mill is NOT recommended. The blanks make beautiful pens and are for the more advanced turner. Turning experience is suggested. The blanks are returnable if they have not been machined in any way (including facing). Blanks will not be replaced or refunded due to blowouts.

Each one of the paua shell pen blanks is artfully and meticulously made by hand by Ron in his studio.
