Oriental Dragon Fountain Pen Kit - 22KT Gold & Palladium

The Oriental Dragon is one of the finest pens available today. The pen kit features a heavy coat of 22K gold & palladium plating and a unique and intricate hand-carved dragon pattern. All the casting work has been done by hand, with exquisite attention to detail. The dragon's body is entwined around the final of the barrel, the center band, the cap finial, finally culminating at the clip with the head of the dragon peering out with firey Swarovski crystal ruby eyes.

The barrel final has richly engraved details, while the cap features a large ruby red Swarovski crystal held in place by a gold iris sunburst design. The nib section has also been engraved with a bamboo leaf design and comes with gilded steel (All gold) German-made Jowo #6 nib in medium point. No detail has been overlooked. Making this a once-in-lifetime pen!

This is a large pen and takes the same tooling as a full-size Emperor. Although you can use a 3/4 x 5" it will be very tight. We highly recommend using a blank that is a min of 5" x 7/8".

You will also need a 15/32 drill bit and a 37/64 drill bit. It is also with noting that this kit is meant for the advanced pen maker. The engraved nib section on the Oriental Dragon does cross with a Full-size Emperor so that you can vary the look between the two kits.

These fountain pen kits are individually inspected, boxed, and come equipped with a high-quality Schmidt converter, ink cartridge, and a guided #6 Jowo steel nib (medium point).

Gilding is a decorative technique for applying a very thin coating of gold over solid surfaces - in this case, steel.

Do you offer different nib sizes for this pen?

The pen comes standard with a medium point #6 Jowo nib.

Currently, we have 2 optional Jowo #6 nibs (with feeds) that can be purchased to change out the standard medium point. More point options are coming, but you can see the fine and bold ones here - https://www.exoticblanks.com/?target=search&mode=search&substring=jowo&including=all

Can you get the replacement tubes in Nickel plated rather than brass?

    Administrator
    Sep 25, 2020, 02:14 AM

    Hi Bryan!

Currently, no. But you can take the brass tubes and paint, or powder coat them.

There are mirror/metallic rattle can paints that will give you a nickel-like look.

    Hope that helps!

Which bushing set is needed for this kit? The same as for the Emperor, or something else? Also, which extra sets of tubes are appropriate?

    Hi Scott!

Yep, exactly! The Oriental Dragon takes the same tubes, bushings and drill bits as the full-size Emperor

You can find the bushings here - https://www.exoticblanks.com/bushings-emperor-full-sized-oriental-dragon.html

    And Tubes here - https://www.exoticblanks.com/brass-tube-set-emperor.html

    I hope that helps!
