Little Hooter Rotacrylic Pen Blanks

In ancient Greece, the owl was the symbol of the Goddess Athena and was associated with foresight, wisdom, and intelligence. It is seen perched on her shoulder. That has carried over to today where the owl is a mascot for universities and Mensa. What a perfect symbol for a pen! Feel free to customize this cute little guy by adding pupils to his large eyes..or leave him as is...You choose!

This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper pen blank was recast, in resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.

The pen blank will fit a mid-size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc).  Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the white sanding dust and CA or epoxy. These pen blanks have been precision cut on a computer-controlled multi-axis CNC. The image depth on the blank does not vary. But you need to drill straight and in the center of the blank (there are two pilot holes started for you) or the image on the blank will be off-center and will turn away as you turn the blank down. Please refer to the provided instructions. Painted tubes are recommended.

The owl is white and was carved into a base of swirling copper and silver resins.
