    Hello,
I am going to try my first inlay pen which is the lighthouse with Nautical pen. I received the pieces and instructions and do not see any wood pieces for the little birds. I noticed holes for where the very tiny birds should be and want to know how or what people are using to fill the holes. Instructions don't really say, just show the birds off to the side.

I would recommend painting your brass tube black before the final assembly of the wood pieces. This helps hide any areas (like the birds) where the brass tube may shine through. Then when you do your CA finish on the assembled blank, the CA will naturally fill in the birds.

If you want to actually fill them in separately, then I would suggest any 2 part epoxy, that has been tinted black (black acrylic paint should work fine)

    Have fun!
