Knurled Brass Insert For Stainless Bottle Stoppers - 5 pack

Meant for Stainless Bottle Stoppers, Honey Dippers, and their other projects with a 3/8″-16 thread that can be turned on their BSM or UM Mandrels.

These inserts are made from brass for excellent rust protection. The price is for a package of 5 inserts.
These are a true 1/2″ diameter, not oversized. We HIGHLY recommend these for Spectraply but can be used with any material to make assembly and disassembly of your blank from the kit a breeze.
Dimensions, 1/2″ diameter x 5/8″ long with a 3/8-16 thread.

How to use:

  1. Drill a 1/2″ diameter hole deeper than the length of the insert (3/4″ to 7/8″).
  2. Add 2-ton epoxy or like around the hole and insert.
  3. While pushing the insert in, twist back and forth to help spread the glue.
  4. Push just past the flush point, so your wood will touch the stopper and not the insert.
  5. Lay the blank on its side and let dry.

I feel like these must be a touch undersized. I have had several end up setting slightly crooked in the 1/2" hole. So far I've been able to make it work when it happens, but it's a bit frustrating. Other than that, these work great.
