Note from Ed: - HempWood is NOT for the beginner! Sharp tools and a steady hand will result in an outstanding pen, but I have “blown up” several in the learning process. One suggestion that has worked for me is to drill with a brad-point bit at fairly high RPM (I use 2000). Also, be sure the blank is mounted firmly—any vibration makes the process much more difficult.

An online tutorial from another source shows turning the blank using a pneumatic disk sander (When all else fails, cheat!!) :) :)

Project Blank is approx. 2.75" strong (a little shy of 3")  x 12" long, and are priced per each. Non-Stabilized. Makes great peppermills!

This is my first time using hemp wood. It can be a little tricky to turn. It does have a tendency to shred like comparable palm woods. However, the final result is absolutely amazing. I couldn't be happier.
