Would the mold for 4 pen blanks easily fit into the chamber? I only saw the internal dimensions of the mold. Also, what type of vacuum pump is recommended for this chamber?

    Dec 3, 2019, 08:04 PM

    Hi Ray,

The Internal Dimensions - 8" Tall x 10.5" Diameter are of the Glass Vac Chamber itself.

A 4 pen blank mold should fit into this chamber. But please keep in mind this chamber is a vacuum chamber, used for (among other things) stabilizing wood. Usually a pen blank mold is used in conjunction with a pressure pot.

I see the interior dimensions, but whats the working interior height for casting bowl blanks? I see the fitting on the side and assume the resin can not go higher than the fitting.

Very good point!!! I measured the depth to the fitting, it is 5.5". When you draw a vacuum, it will bubble, so the liquid will probably top that fitting. I do not know what effect that might have. I will research it with BVV and try to get a more precise answer for you. Thanks for bringing it up!!!

Is this safe for use with Cactus Juice?

    Nov 22, 2019, 02:31 AM

    Hi Josh,

Yes. All of the Glass Vac line is designed to be used with wood stabilizing resins. Cactus Juice, BVV Stabilizing Resin, TMI Stabilizing Resin, etc will all work great with this chamber. These Glass Vac chambers have a glass lid which the stabilizing solutions will not craze. I hope that helps! - Dawn

    Oct 6, 2019, 08:40 PM

I put the dimensions and other specs on the Specifications tab, as not to clutter the listing too much.
