Red & White Jasper Faux-Stone Pen Blanks

A simulated stone pen blank without the expensive price tag! Real powdered stone has been dyed and then combined with acrylic resins to make this stone look alike. This red & white stone blank is accented with black veining. A good choice for the advanced turner.  

Turning Tip!Turning Tip: Faux stone is dense, so the tool needs to be sharp.  It can be turned with a roughing gouge, skew, or carbide tools (please watch our video showing these tools in use).  Because it is stone, it is porous, so you may want to complete it with a thin CA finish (I recommend 2-3 coats of thin and one or two coats of medium.)  Once these have cured, sand with 600 grit and polish---you can achieve a high shine--Ed
