New from Jeff! The Daisy Blank! The Daisy is a member of the Asteraceae family (other members include the aster, daisy, and sunflower) and is the largest family of flowering plants. The name 'Asteraceae' means star. Daisies have a long and surprising history, with many stories surrounding this simple, yet lovely flower. Thought the ages, daisies have come to be associated with purity, innocence, loyal love, beauty, patience and simplicity. They were often depicted in meadows in Medieval paintings, and were known then as "flowery mead." The Daisy's relationship with civilization is believed to be more than 4,000 years old, as hairpins decorated with daisies were found during the excavation of the Minoan Palace on the Island of Crete. Even further back, Egyptian ceramics have been found that were decorated with daisies.
This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was re cast, in resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.
The blank will fit a mid size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc) Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some blue fill and CA or epoxy. Painted tubes are recommended.
Each blank in the set is approx 3/4" in diameter x 4" long. There is an "indent" in each end of each blank where it was held by the CNC. This is a great centering guide for your drill bit.
