What’s the best procedure and product to back paint these specific transparent blanks? I’ve tried painting both the brass and the inner of blank using the same acrylic paint I’ve always used; both times the brass tube would not fit back in and I had to scrape the paint off and then it fit. Ultimately this issue has ruined 2 blanks & kits and wasted my money…these are not cheap blanks and I’m disappointed. Suggestions please!

Hi Mike, The procedure for painting these blanks is no different than painting any other blank. The blank is plain ol' alumilite resin, and there is nothing that would make it different from any other alumilite blank.

It sounds more like a dimensional problem if you are having trouble getting the brass tube in after painting. Ensure that your paint is not old and has gotten thick by drying out or that you are not applying too thick of a coat. As long as it's acrylic paint, you can add a very small amount of water to rehydrate it and make it more fluid. You also might want to check the hole and/or drill bit by mic them - just to make sure that they are at the dimensions that they are supposed to be.

    Hope that helps!
