The threads, cap button and Center band trim ring are the same finish as the rest of the plated parts. All parts are interchangeable with the regular Caballeros. Provided with Schmidt 888 Rollerball Refills for smooth writing to go with the good looks.

These use the same drill bits and bushings as the regular Drill bits 12mm or 29/64 & 10mm or 25/64. Bushings are either Caballero or Jr Gent 1.

The colorful, blue picture shown was provided by our friend Clark Miles - notice Clark changed the standard finial for one he made himself to give the pen a more personalized touch.

Tubes: body .383" x 2.11",  Cap: 0.452" x 1.82"

Agree with below, need to buy the 15/32 drill bit
  • May 26, 2020, 08:52 AM
Instructions call for 29/64 drill bit for the cap. If drilled to that size, the tube will not fit into the blank. The cap needs to be drilled with a 15/32 drill bit.

Fantastic kit. Be aware that it is a slightly different size than the Jr Gent II, but that .5mm less makes for a slimmer and more elegant pen.

What size barrel trimmer shafts will I need for the tubes?

Here are the tube dimensions for the Caballero -
    Tubes: body .383" x 2.11", Cap: 0.452" x 1.82", It also takes a 10mm and 12mm drill bit.

As a general rule, we don't recommend using barrel trimmers to face blanks. But instead, recommend the sanding method. Far fewer tear outs.

How is this pen for smaller hands if it uses the same bits?

The comparison is with the popular "junior" series, which uses a 10.5mm body drill. The Caballero uses a 10 mm.
