    Is this tap 8 tip or 16 tpi?

    Hi Gerry,

    Mandrel has a 3/8 inch diameter, appears to be 16 tpi.

    Is this to be used with the older, beefier bottle stoppers or the newer ones with a smaller drill bit needed? What size drill bit is needed for this mandrel?

    Hi Scott.

    A 11/32" drill bit is recommended for these mandrels, as well as a 3/8" tap. In addition to bottle stoppers, the mandrels can also be used for other projects such as ice scopes, serving utensils, etc.
