Armed Forces Rotacrylic Pen Blank - Marines (Red).

This is the first in a series of pen blanks to celebrate all those that served the US armed forces. This one is for The Marines. The blank is made from a base of a hand-poured red alumilite resin accented with a touch of black. It will fit any mid-size pen.

This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was recast, in white resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.

The pen blank will fit a mid size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc).  Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the white sanding dust and CA or epoxy. These pen blanks have been precision cut on a computer controlled multi axis CNC. The image depth on the blank does not vary. But you need to drill straight and in the center of the blank (there are two pilot holes started for you) or the image on the blank will be off center and will turn away as you turn the blank down. Please refer to the provided instructions. Painted tubes are recommended.

This is such a nice blank. It turns like butter and is cast well. Any Marine would love to have it.

I made a pen with this blank for a pen for my son in law who served in Iraq. It was a very special project.

Hi Sara! Yep, the Jr Gent ballpoint would work just fine! The Jr's are one of the kits that this was made for. Nice job!!
