Army Airborne Rotacrylic Pen Blanks

This is one in a series of blanks to celebrate all those that served the US armed forces. This one is for The Army. The blank is made from a base of a hand-poured pearl camo alumilite resin, and it will fit any mid-size pen.

This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was re-cast, in dark blue resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.

The blank will fit a mid-size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc).  Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the white sanding dust and CA or epoxy. These blanks have been precision cut on a multi-axis CNC. The image depth on the blank does not vary. But you need to drill straight and in the center of the blank (there are two pilot holes started for you) or the image on the blank will be off-center and will turn away as you turn the blank down. Please refer to the provided instructions.

Painted tubes are recommended.

Love the material. Turns great and is easy to center on the drill. Color in pic is different that what I received. Mine was cream with pearly brown and green for camo. I think this is a pre-1947 logo for Army divisions that later became Air Force. http://www.wingsoverkansas.com/history/a1028/

Good looking blank but that is the old Army Air Corps/Air Force symbol used up until about a decade ago.
