 Use in Casting

Simply add the dye to the resin and mix well. (For Alumilite resins we recommend adding your dye after A & B sides are completely mixed so that you can ensure there is no fogginess or unmixed resin.) The recommended dye load for casting is 5% by weight. But Alumilte dye colors are highly concentrated, a little will go a long way! For pen blank casting, we recommend using transparent dyes in combination with mica powder, Pearl Ex, Alumidust or Alumilite Metallic Powder. This will add amazing color depth, swirls, and sparkle to your castings!

 Use in Wood Stabilizing

How much Alumilite dye you will need will depend on the wood you are stabilizing and the intensity of color you desire. When stabilizing we suggest going darker than what you think. (Remember that you have to penetrate into and go over the natural color of the wood that you are stabilizing.) These dyes can also be mixed with each other to produce your own unique colors - or you can custom double dye your blanks for spectacular results!

Please note - White and the fluorescent colors are not recommended for wood stabilizing.

Can these be used with other resins?

Depends on what resin you had in mind. I know they work with silmar 41, and alumilite's epoxy resin. But for others, I would recommend testing in s small batch.
