Detective Rotacrylic pen blank

New from Masterscroller! Jeff has designed a new blank to celebrate those hard working nemesis' of crime - the Detective. Real or fictional, the detective has long held a fascination with our imagination.  From Serpico and Pinkerton to Holmes and Dupin to Columbo and Kojak and of course, Dick Tracy and Nancy Drew. For hundreds of years, detectives have solved crimes (real and literary), as well as entertained and inspired. (Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Conner and the former First Lady Laura Bush have both cited Nancy Drew as being a formative influence on them). So whether you know someone in law enforcement, or are just steeped in the latest novel, this may be the great way to show your appreciation!

This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was recast, in resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.

The pen blank will fit a mid size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc).  Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the white sanding dust and CA or epoxy. These pen blanks have been precision cut on a computer controlled multi axis CNC. The image depth on the blank does not vary. But you need to drill straight and in the center of the blank (there are two pilot holes started for you) or the image on the blank will be off center and will turn away as you turn the blank down. Please refer to the provided instructions. Painted tubes are recommended.
