Hi Hugo, Do you want to do this in one pour of solid resin? If you had to make something that massive in solid resin, I would do in several pours or reduce the mass by making it a hybrid - and use either a deep cast epoxy (sticks to itself better) or Alumilite slow. But I would not do one solid pour of resin in this size. Most of the resins we deal with in this hobby are exothermic - meaning they cure by generating their own heat. The more mass of resin, the more heat. Too much heat and the resin will crack when it cures. 10x 5 is pretty massive for the resins we use.
Hello Emilie, Sorry, I have not had the time to take new photos. All of the Alumilite 16# kits have the new Blue & White Labels. Actually, we just got a couple of skids of it on Thursday
Hi Mary! That totally depends on the size of the blank that you are making. The larger the blank, the more resin you will use, and the fewer blanks you will get. If you know the weight of the blank you can divide that into the weight of the resin to get an approximation. (One of our alumilite pen blanks (13/16x 5.25) for example runs about 2.4 -2.5oz.) However, if you have never done casting before there is a little bit of a learning curve, so please expect some waste.
