Pets on Parade Rotacrylic Pen Blank - Orange Tabby.

This is one in a series of new blanks dedicated to those faithful companions that fill our lives with warmth and joy.

A tabby is not so much of a breed but is really any domestic cat that has a coat featuring distinctive stripes, dots, lines or swirling patterns on thier coat, usually together with a mark resembling an 'M' on the forehead. Orange Tabbys, however (also known as Marmalade cats or Marmies) have a striking golden orange to ginger colored coat coupled with the tabby patterning. Because of the genetics involved to produce an Orange Tabby, they are most often male cats (75-80% likely hood)

There is an old tale that when Jesus could not sleep as a child, an orange tabby found him, curled up next to him and began to purr. Jesus loved the cat so much that Mary kissed the cat on the forehead and thanked him for taking care of baby Jesus by lulling him to sleep. That kiss forever branded the cat with the distinctive “M” marking on the forehead.

This blank will fit any mid size pen, and is a great way to show your love and support for this amazing cat!

This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was re cast. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.

The blank will fit a mid size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc).  Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the sanding dust and CA or colored epoxy. As always, painted tubes are recommended.
