So this just holds the blank? Am I right that there is nothing making sure that it is being held square to the sander? Nothing fits in miter slot to make sure it's at 90 % ?

You secure a punch to the v block with the provided attachment screw. When locked in it will hold your blank square to your sander.

What does the punch set have to do with this jig? Thanks

    Hi David,

Essentially the punch holds your blank between the jig and the sanding disc. Pick a punch that fits inside the tube of the blank that you are sanding. The punch then fits into the v groove of the jig and extends beyond to the sanding disc. The blank slides onto the extended part of the punch & face away! I hope that helps make it clearer.
