Eric's Artistic Embeds Pen Blanks

After creating an award winning work of art from one of his own unique pen blanks (pictured above), I asked Eric recently to describe his work -  and his passion..

I learned the art of pen turning from my dad over three years ago. Turning beautiful woods and store bought acrylics were interesting enough for a while, but the beauty of combining nature and resin was very intriguing to me.

After many hours of experimenting with different materials, I found the fun of pinecones and cherry pits. The pinecones and cherry pits have become my best selling pens. The mini pinecones have become an award winning cast which have created pens that have sold for hundreds of dollars.

One thing to remember when turning both pinecones and cherry pits is that they do have areas the resin can not get into. CA glue will be necessary during the process of turning these unique blanks.
