It's funny... I spent a couple of days trying to put this pen together and just couldn't figure it out. Then I compared it to my second Caballero RB (purchased at the same time) and noticed several parts and the configuration of parts was substantially different than the first Caballero RB I was trying to get working. I'm going to save the turned blanks (since, of course, their tubes are identical in all ways to the second Caballer package.) I am more than willing to show you the difference between identically marked packages. Just seems like a glaring quality control problem.

I have made several of these pens. I love the sleek design and the customers loved as well. I made them with some signature tree wood.

I love this kit. Is 1st capped pen I have made. The directions have some room for improvement but the kit is great.
    Will definitely be ordering more

Are the threads plastic on the Caballero that is on sale?

All good quality pens have plastic female threads on the cap. Metal on metal threads will vibrate loose, easily. When the pen opens in a customer's shirt pocket, you will have a VERY unhappy customer, who will usually tell you the shirt was $100+ and expect you to pay for it.

Don't ask how I know this---15 years of selling at art and craft shows will teach you a LOT!!
