Hi Dale, Several pen kits have 3 bushings. The center bushing is used to turn the top of the lower barrel, as well as the bottom of the top barrel. I have listed a link for the instructions below, which will illustrate the bushing lay out - https://www.bereahardwoods.com/pdf/RTEuroTwist.pdf Berea makes most of the kits that Woodcraft sells (and markets the kits under a different name). However, Berea also makes several different styles of euro pen kits. Their screw cap style takes very different bushings from the 7mm round top style (the 7MM takes the 10A). It's always a good idea to get the bushings from the same place as the pen kit, that way you know it will fit the kits you are getting. Hope that helps! Dawn
