Turning Tip!Turning Tip: Faux stone is dense, so the tool needs to be sharp.  It can be turned with a roughing gouge, skew, or carbide tools (please watch our video showing these tools in use).  Because it is stone, it is porous, so you may want to complete with a thin CA finish (I recommend 2-3 coats of thin and one or two coats of medium.)  Once these have cured, sand with 600 grit and polish---you can achieve a high shine--Ed

Pen blanks are approx 3/4" (shy) sq x 5" long. Price is per each; the photo shows a representative sampling of the colors and swirling.

I put this on a chrome Jr. George and it looks excellent. I had zero issues drilling both holes with the full size bit, using a sharp brad point and slow, even pressure on my drill press. I cleaned the hole after every 3/8" or so, and while the 10.5mm side was hot to the touch, it didn't blow out and cooled quickly. I sanded to 600 then used all the micromesh pads followed by Meguiar's PlastX and it has a satin sheen. Other finishing steps could be taken to get a glossier finish if desired, but I like where this one ended up.
