Traditionally known by the name Satine, it’s no wonder that these pen blanks (now more commonly called Bloodwood) has grown so popular. Though it is very hard and dense its strength, and coloration makes this a crimson favorite.

Once known as Satine, these pen blanks, now commonly referred to as Bloodwood, have gained immense popularity. It's no surprise considering their remarkable strength and captivating coloration.

Bloodwood boasts a vibrant, crimson hue that can gradually deepen into a rich brownish red when exposed to light over time. To preserve its original shade, applying a thick protective finish and limiting direct sunlight exposure is advisable. Furthermore, this exceptional hardwood's density ensures a splendid finish and a brilliant shine.

Hardwood, with a fine texture, good natural luster, and somewhat chatoyant. Easy to turn.
