Aspen Pen Blanks

Aspen is a great alternative to holly for pen blanks as it has a creamy pale yellow to almost white color. It's easy to work with and glues up and finishes well.

The tree gets its nickname "quaking aspen" because its leaves tremble and quake even in a light breeze due to the long, flatted stalks (petioles) that attach the leaves to the branches. In 2014, "Quaking Aspen" was declared the state tree of Utah, replacing the Colorado Blue Spruce that had held the title since 1933.

The pen blanks measure 3/4" x 5".
