How to prepare your wood for the stabilization process.
Mark all wooden pieces with a pencil (paint markers/sharpies will dissolve), make sure to include your initials and wood type on each piece. Make sure the wood has a moister content of not more than 10% before it is shipped. Remove all wax or other coatings from wood before it is shipped. Some coatings may act as a barrier and the resin will not penetrate the wood in full. Cut your wood slightly oversized to compensate for shrinkage and warping
Please note the following:
Some of the more dense exotic woods do not require stabilizing Very oily woods and pitchy woods do not stabilize well Warping and cracking can occur during the process of stabilization and curing Stabilizing will not fix cracked or checked wood. Wood must have a moisture content below 10% . Price advantage may be negotiated as quantities are increased.
Total cost = the outgoing weight of the wood + shipping charges
Our outgoing rate is only $9.50/lb !!
