Keith Larrett
Keith was born in the small town of Chipinge, in the south eastern corner of Zimbabwe. After high school he attended the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa. After graduating and entering the working world, Keith was bitten by the travel bug. He spent some time touring Europe, eventually settling in the United States. His first career in the U.S. was as a skydiving photographer. He spent six years and over 7,500 jumps photographing and producing videos of fellow skydivers. Much to his credit, Keith has had many of his photographs published internationally in calendars and on the covers of magazines. (You can see some of Keith’s stunning photographs at www.visexp.com.) After some soul searching, Keith decided to change careers and he developed a fascination for the art of woodworking. He now pursues this career with the same fervor that he did as a skydiving photographer, and we are proud to host Keith’s blank creations on our site.
A special note directly to you from Keith -
"I have chosen to cut, drill, tube and mill the blanks that I am offering. I realize this places a restriction on the kits they are able to be used in, but have decided to do so for the following reasons:
Firstly, it is important that the blanks are drilled through the center of the design. I feel this is best achieved by drilling on the lathe and realize that not everyone has the capability to do so. Secondly, and probably most importantly. In my experience most segmented blanks that survive being turned round, cut, drilled, tubed, milled and re-trued stand an excellent chance of being made into a pen. The drilling process is where a blank is most likely to be damaged and I would rather have that disappointment than someone who has purchased a blank from me. To anyone who purchases one my blanks, please feel free to call me at (386) 527-0230 if you would like some advice on turning the blank. Thank you for considering one of my blanks in your search for a unique pen.
